Senior Accountant

F&A Grand Auditing and Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join our Audit & Assurance Department.
The successful candidate will take an active role in the planning, execution and completion of audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
The position requires strong technical knowledge, professional judgement, excellent organisational skills and the ability to supervise junior team members while maintaining high standards of audit quality.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Planning and executing statutory audit engagements from commencement through completion.
Obtaining an understanding of clients' businesses, operations, systems and internal controls.
Performing risk assessments and identifying significant audit risks.
Determining appropriate audit procedures in response to identified risks.
Preparing and reviewing audit working papers and supporting documentation.
Performing substantive audit procedures.
Reviewing financial statements and disclosures.
Assessing accounting treatments and identifying potential financial reporting issues.
Evaluating audit evidence and documenting audit conclusions.
Reviewing work performed by junior auditors.
Supervising, coaching and supporting junior members of the audit team.
Monitoring the progress of audit engagements and ensuring that assignments are completed within agreed deadlines.
Communicating audit findings and outstanding matters to clients and management.
Liaising with clients' accounting teams, directors and management.
Preparing audit completion documentation and supporting the finalisation of audit reports.
Ensuring compliance with applicable auditing standards, financial reporting standards and the firm's audit methodology.
Supporting the preparation of audit planning and completion memoranda.
Identifying accounting, internal control and compliance matters requiring management attention.
Maintaining high standards of audit quality, professional scepticism and ethical conduct.
Assisting with the continuous development of the firm's audit processes and methodologies.

The ideal candidate should have:
A university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Relevant external audit experience, preferably within an audit or professional services firm.
Strong understanding of audit methodology and financial reporting.
Good knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and professional judgement.
Ability to manage audit assignments and work effectively within deadlines.
Experience supervising or reviewing the work of junior auditors.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate professionally with clients and management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
ACA, ACCA or another recognised professional accounting qualification, whether qualified or at an advanced stage of completion, will be considered a strong advantage.
Previous experience with professional audit software will also be considered an advantage.
