F&A Grand Auditing and Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Department. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting requirements of a portfolio of clients, supervising accounting work, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements and maintaining a high standard of client service. 

The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage assignments independently. 

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: 

• Managing the accounting records of a portfolio of local and international clients. 

• Reviewing bookkeeping and accounting work prepared by junior team members. 

• Preparing and reviewing bank, supplier, customer and other balance sheet reconciliations. 

• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts. 

• Preparing and reviewing VAT reconciliations and VAT returns. 

• Assisting with corporate tax computations and other tax-related matters. 

• Preparing year-end accounting files and schedules for audit purposes. 

• Reviewing trial balances and identifying accounting issues requiring correction or further investigation. 

• Preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other accounting adjustments. 

• Ensuring that client accounting records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and legislation. 

• Liaising directly with clients regarding accounting, VAT, tax and financial reporting matters. 

• Monitoring deadlines and ensuring timely completion of client assignments. 

• Supervising and supporting junior accountants. 

• Providing guidance and training to less experienced members of the accounting team. 

• Coordinating with the Audit and Tax departments in relation to client assignments. 

• Supporting the implementation and effective use of accounting technology and cloud accounting systems. 

• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and client service. 

• Maintaining strong and professional relationships with clients. 

The ideal candidate should have: 

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. 

• Relevant professional experience within an accounting firm, professional services firm or accounting department. 

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 

• Good knowledge of VAT and Cyprus tax compliance requirements. 

• Experience preparing management accounts and financial information. 

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills. 

• Experience with accounting software and cloud accounting platforms. 

• Excellent organisational and analytical skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines. 

• Strong attention to detail. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English. 

• Ability to communicate professionally with clients. 

• Ability to supervise and support junior members of the team. 

Experience with Xero will also be considered an advantage.
